OpusCapita’s Net Sales Increase by 20%
Software group OpusCapita, a specialist in cash flow automation, increased its net sales by 20% in 2008. Consolidated net sales amounted to almost EUR 13.7 million, an increase of more than 21% over the previous year. Profitability also improved significantly, while growth was experienced across all business sectors, most notably in services, whose sales grew by 39%.
“The economic crisis has only served to increase companies’ interest in enhancing liquidity management, improving their financial administration and enhancing the effectiveness of their operational control systems. Since we offer effective, constantly developing solutions meeting these requirements, we feel sufficiently confident to anticipate moderate growth for the current year,” explains OpusCapita’s CEO Kari J. Mäkelä.
These growth forecasts justify the company’s significant investment in product and service development in areas important to its customers, such as international payment transactions, in which it is a pioneer.
“For example, OpusCapita’s software has been used to implement the first inter-company SEPA payments, and there is growing demand for expert SEPA solutions and services,” says Mäkelä.
In the current year, OpusCapita’s SaaS-based services for electronic invoice processing will add new dimensions to its offering.
According to Mäkelä, the company’s investment in new business areas has been vindicated. Late last autumn, for example, major new business was won through a partnership agreement reached with a globally operating company, the British IT2 Treasury Solutions. Moreover, during this spring, Ramirent Group, which operates in 13 countries, successfully introduced OpusCapita’s advanced Treasury system.
OpusCapita specialises in the automation of cash flows, such as centralised Liquidity Management systems, as well as the finance and electronic invoice processing solutions that support them. Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, the company employs around 100 people, the majority of whom are financial management and IT professionals.
