Almost fifty people attended the Liquidity Management and Netting seminar in Stockholm at the end of April. They all got the chance to listen to Group Treasurer, Tomas Winqvist from Bonnier, and Karin Marklinder, Controller and project manager at Mölnlycke Health Care.

“If you have almost 200 entities, there are quite a lot of telephone calls to make for a cash forecast,” says Tomas Winqvist, Group Treasurer of the media company, Bonnier AB, in explaining the reasons for creating a forecasting process.

Bonnier has now chosen to develop the process further and move to a qualified standard system, OpusCapita Liquidity Management. Tomas Winqvist has everything planned for how to move entities in 16 countries, account statements and TWIN reports to OpusCapita.

“In OpusCapita, we can work with more developed reports and statistics. In addition, the process becomes more user-independent,” Winqvist says.

Quick implementation of Netting

Mölnlycke Health Care has come a bit longer in their Netting system replacement. Karin Marklinder told us that they had tried to make the new Netting system a business case several times before, but finally they had to make the decision since SCA, which operated the old Netting system – decided to phase it out.

“We made a visit to SKF, which uses OpusCapita’s system. They were so satisfied that we were convinced. SKF has much larger volumes and a greater number of currencies,” says Karin Marklinder.

The decision was easy, since the web-based system also fulfilled the functional and technical requirements. The implementation process of OpusCapita Netting was quick and successful, partly because it got full support by the management.

Efficient handling

“Netting/factoring reinvented on a modern technical platform enables efficient handling of internal invoice transactions and FX risk reduction. Additional benefits include improved reporting and better control in a user-friendly interface. Everything was done on time and exceeded customer expectations.”

The solution will support the group's continued growth through acquisitions and entering into new markets. The company has a policy to use SAP R/3 as first choice for new IT tools, but according to Karin Marklinder, SAP did not meet the requirements set up for the new Netting system. One of the key factors for choosing OpusCapita Netting was the possibility to include non-SAP companies in netting.
